The DC Bar’s Pro Bono Center Helps Local Residents in Need

Deena Williamson serves as general counsel and corporate secretary for IBEX Global, an outsourcing company headquartered in Washington, DC. An involved legal professional, Deena Williamson maintains memberships in several organizations, including the District of Columbia Bar.

In addition to overseeing professional development programs and activities for Washington, DC-based attorneys, the District of Columbia Bar works to enhance access to justice for low-income DC residents. Much of the organization’s work in this area takes place at its Pro Bono Center, which provides legal assistance to thousands of people each year.

At the Pro Bono Center, the DC Bar recruits and trains volunteer attorneys to support a variety of programs and activities, including a bankruptcy clinic, an immigration legal advice and referral clinic, a probate resource center, and a legal information helpline. Donations from DC Bar members, law firms, and other local groups support all of the Pro Bono Center’s programs, which are available free of charge to individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
